Supernova Gear, also known as Hero Items, are new items added in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 that let you borrow a hero’s powers. With these powers you can track your enemies, evade bullets, launch yourself into the air with sound waves, harness shadow energy, and more.
As part of a Chapter 6 Season 3 story quest, you need to damage enemies within five seconds of using Supernova Gear, so you’ll need to find the Hero Items before anyone else does. Luckily, there are a few ways get them as soon as you land.

How to get Supernova Gear in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3
The easiest location to find Supernova Gear is on the bottom floor of the Academy Tech Lab, which is the southeastern building of Supernova Academy. Inside, you’ll find three vaults — Rank C, Rank B, and Rank A — with each containing at least one Supernova Gear.
To get inside a vault, you’ll need to match your Hero Rank to the letter on the vault door. For example, you’ll need to be at least Hero Rank B to get inside the Rank B vault. As you start every game at Hero Rank C, you can immediately enter the Rank C vault and claim the Supernova Gear inside.
As the season progresses, more Academy Tech Labs will appear around the map, which means more Supernova Gear for you to claim.
Other than Supernova Academy, you can find Supernova Gear in a variety of locations:
- Weapon pedestals around the map
- Rank B hero caches or higher
- Random loot in chests
All Supernova Gear in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3
There are currently four Supernova Gear that you can find in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 Super:
- Myst Gauntlets — Fire a cone of shadow energy ahead of you.
- Killswitch Revolvers — Dual pistols that let you doge incoming bullets and shoot with better accuracy in the air.
- Tracking Visor — A visor that lets you scan the surrounding area, which will show you nearby enemies, foot prints, and chests.
- Bass Boost — Use sound waves to destroy structures, damage opponents, bounce back enemies, and propel yourself into the air.
