Rewind is a new feature added to Mario Kart World that allows you to undo your mistakes.

As you rewind, your character will backtrack for as long as you hold the rewind, but everything else will proceed as normal. Other cars, obstacles, and other moving objects will keep on trucking. However, rewind can be particularly useful for many other reasons!

To rewind in Mario Kart World, press Down on the D-pad to retrace your steps or hold it down to send your character back in time for as long as its held.

When to rewind in Mario Kart World

Rewinding mid-race in Mario Kart World isn’t the most particularly useful as your opponents will keep racing along and leave you in the dust. However, it’s perfect for when you’re practicing a short cut or attempting a challenge in free roam. Press down on the d-pad to give yourself a second chance at a tricky wall ride, challenge, and more.
