Wall ride is a one of three new tricks in Mario Kart World and, well, lets you ride walls!

With anti-gravity gone in Mario Kart World, racers needed a new way to drive on walls, which led to wall ride. However, you can’t just drive into a wall to magically defy the laws of physics it’s a little bit trickier than that.

Here’s how to wall ride in Mario Kart World.

How to wall ride in Mario Kart World

To wall ride in Mario Kart World, you’ll need to perform a trick jump towards a wall. This can be done by pressing the R or ZR button mid-air, charge jumping, jumping off a rail, or pretty much any method you can think of.

Wall riding is very useful as it builds up mini-turbo faster than any other technique. Wall riding mini-turbo functions similarly to drifting and the other techniques in that it has three different stages — Blue, Orange, and Rainbow. Blue will provide you with a short boost while rainbow will send you off into the distance!

Additionally, make sure to trick jump off of the wall to use your mini-turbo boost, or else you won’t get a speed boost of any kind.

When to wall ride in Mario Kart World

Wall riding can be useful when you see a long wall on the edge of the track or if the wall leads to another shortcut. As wall ride quickly builds up mini-turbo, make sure to use it to your advantage to speed past your grounded opponents.

Now that you’ve learned how to wall ride, it’s time to master the other new techniques, charge jump and rail ride, or freshen up your drifting skills. Make sure to use rewind to save yourself some time!
