Outfits in Mario Kart World act as an alternative costume for mainstay Mario characters. There are over a hundred outfits for you to choose from, but that also means there are over a hundred outfits for you to unlock. It can be quite a tedious task, but luckily, unlocking outfits is a bit easier than you think!
Here’s how to unlock every outfit in Mario Kart World.
How to unlock every outfit in Mario Kart World
To unlock an outfit in Mario Kart World, you’ll need to collect a Dash Food, which are the glowing gold paper bags that can be found outside of Yoshi’s stops and food trucks. The outfit you unlock will depend on two things — the character you’re playing and the type of Dash Food.
As only mainstay characters have outfits, you will not unlock an outfit if you’re playing a side character like Cow or Sidestepper. To know which characters have outfits, open the character menu and press the sort button. Each character that has their own icon at the bottom of the screen has at least one unlockable outfit, while the characters at the very end of the menu do not have any.
Each Dash Food is also associated with certain outfits for each character. Some outfits can be unlocked by multiple foods, while others can be a little bit harder to find.
The easiest way to unlock each outfit is to visit Yoshi’s stops and food trucks around the map in Free Roam and pick up and use the Dash Food over and over again on each applicable character.
